Circular Motion Cleansing
Do you ever wonder why all the skin pros always recommend that whatever
you do on your skin, you should always do it in a "circular motion"?
This applies to layering on lotion, massaging your face, and
exfoliating your skin. The benefits of circular motion skin
application are the following:
- Even distribution of pressure throughout the surface of your skin. This prevents over-concentration of any particular spots.
- Proper cleaning of the pores since you are cleaning in rotation, not merely upward or downward friction
- Acceleration of skin cells to re-generate faster uniformly and also likely to reduce cellulite
- Removal of black and white heads as well as dead skin cells
There
you have it! If you are lazy like me, do remember to at least scrub
and clean your face (other body parts? optional) in a circular motion;
such motion is more perfect and simpler than all other motions and
farther removed from all possible blemishes. This is because circular
motion has no beginning and no end, for every spot on your skin is like
the next one.
Heat & Pores
Top 5 things to do for your skin immediately after your shower:
1)
If you have black heads on your nose like me (my dermatalogist gave me
a nickname of "Strawberry nose"), you can buy Biore's nose stripes
(available at drug stores) and apply it once a week to your nose for
effective removal of black heads. This regiment is best after shower
when your pores are enlarged from the heat in the shower and your skin
is moistened by the shower steam. You can also do this after being in
a sauna or the steam room too.
2) Apply moisturizer to your
face and eye cream to your eyes. While your skin is moistened from the
shower steam, all the goodness from your products absorb better and
dispense into your pores directly without blockage.
3) Spray on
a moisturizing mist before you apply creams to hydrate and prep your
skin before additional hydration treatments. This is highly effective
after shower because your pores are the most hungry after a shower, a
work out or anything that heats up your body.
4) Apply lotion or
body oils to your most visible body parts to keep them hydrated
overnight. Stay away from products that have artificial ingredients or
fragrance as they can irritate your skin while you are sleeping and
tossing around in bed.
5) Do not forget to moisturize your toes too the same way. They deserve the same TLC.
